It has just been announced that Dr Spartacus Dandridge, the dandy ghosthunter who previously appeared in the Past Imperfect one shot Antiquus Phantasma in 2000 AD #1631 is set to return in a five part strip kicking off in prog 1710.
As with the original , this is to be written by Alec Worley with art by Warren Pleece and will mark Alec’s second full story run after his Age of the Wolf debut.
You can read the full announcement for this with a load more background info over on Alec’s blog HERE and I’ll be checking Warren’s site as well for any preview art
The original one shot was reviewed in one of the very first ECBT2000AD podcasts we did and I remember me and Flint both loving it, so I’ve got high expectations for this. Really looking forward to checking it out in a few weeks and I’ll be sure and post up any further info I can dig up.
I’m trying to remember other instances where one shots like this have been green lit for further exploration. I know Nemesis the Warlock spun out of a Terror Tale, but other than that I’m drawing blanks. Have a horrible feeling there have been lots and I’m losing serious nerd points here.
