Not 2000AD related but wanted to give a quick mention to a VERY cool comic I got sent a copy of… El Bigote : A Tequila Drenched Reckoning.
So how do I describe this one? Um…. batshit crazy and fucking badass? Yeah, that’ll do. I’ll give you the premise I was given which sums it up better than I could :
“The adventures of undead mustachio quillslinger El Bigote as he travels throuth the Mexican Afterlife offing living-dead banditos and skeletal gunslingers”
See? How could you not love that? Written by Matthew McLaughlin with gorgeous black and white artwork by the suitably named El Chivo the 12 page preview comic I read saw El Bigote ride in on his trusty ostrich on the trail of the three unique looking villains shown in the pic above. It was funny with a really nice line in black comedy but not at the expense of the action which was all handled really well.
Bottom line, I’m hooked. Just reading this preview I’m really looking forward to seeing more of the characters and world they’ve created. Cant ask for more than that from an issue zero.
