Back in 1995 my excitement was at fever pitch. The Judge Dredd film was about to be released, and I absolutely could not wait to see it. We all know how that turned out, and I still have ambivalent feelings towards it. However, before hitting the cinemas I was absorbing any snippets in newspapers and magazines about it, and re-reading all my old progs in anticipation.
How chuffed was I then when I wandered along Queens Street in Cardiff, to see this:
Back in those days there were no such things as mobiles with cameras, and I didn’t have one to hand. In a state of excitement and urgency I belted up the road to Boots and grabbed a disposable camera, and with the help of my girlfriend at the time I managed to get a few nice pics.
I wish I’d taken some more photos of the futuristic Landrover vehicle that came with the patrolling Judges, but these pics of Dredd on the roof will have to do:
Finally (and hence the title of this wee article) here’s one of a Judge (presumably masquerading as Dredd) arresting what can only be described as an 80’s version of Harry Potter’s ‘difficult years’, ie me. Oh, the humanity!
