  1. I missed this review and just wanted to thank Eamonn for the very kind words, and also to clear a couple of things up:

    1) I don’t think I’ve ever been Eisner-nominated! I’ve been nominated for an Eagle and ‘True Believer’ award, but I’m pretty sure never an Eisner…

    2) Egmont didn’t commission the restored version of Hook Jaw — the short-lived STRIP magazine secured the reprint rights, including permission to restore/re-master the strips for the new publication. However, Egmont clearly retained the rights to re-reprint the material, hence the digital edition. There are only this many ‘re-mastered’ episodes because this is all we did for STRIP!

There was actually some re-drawing involved in the process as well, which I detailed here: http://clintflickerlettering.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/strip-magazine-restoring-hook-jaw.html

(Actually, STRIP had the rights to a load of old IPC strips — I did a couple of episodes of Dredger that I don’t think ever saw the light of day.)
