Another week, another slice of technology gone wrong. We could (or is that “couldn’t”?) blame Sov hackers for the whole debacle but that would let Elon Musk off the hook here. It strikes me that he’s the one ultimately responsible for the autonomous automobile problem since we never had KITT fucking up the traffic back in the day…
DATELINE:
December 2102 (Prog 189).
WHO’S RESPONSIBLE?:
Alan Grant’s lacklustre story scrapes through and Ron Smith is back in the art saddle.
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT (IN ONE SENTENCE)?:
A destruction derby roadster takes over the running of a Big Mo service station.
ANY LAW LORE?:
Judges use observation posts, which are a forerunner to Watching Bays.
WHAT’S THE ART LIKE?:
Smith pulls off some nice stuff here though one or two of the panels stretch the credulity almost to breaking point. Smith’s funny that way sometimes in that he’ll pull off something breathtaking and intermix it with panels that defy logic.
HOW MANY LINKS?:
There’s a nice dig at service station grub but apart from that it’s nothing special. Three generous links because I did once almost shit myself after some Little Chef lasagne.
