You know what Orlok hates about cults? Pretty much everything. It’s fine believing in a magical sky daddy, wearing of magic underpants and chopping off your own dangly parts, but when that spills over into projecting your shit onto the moon then it’s a step too far. Ditto for the pair of Jehovah’s Witnesses who foolishly knocked on his his door a few Saturdays ago.
DATELINE:
December 2102 (Prog 192).
WHO’S RESPONSIBLE?:
John Wagner and Alan Grant hold a mirror up to cults and Ron Smith gets his alarm clock out.
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT (IN ONE SENTENCE)?:
Members of the Loonie cult attack the laser advertising complex at Moonray Tower.
WHO’S THAT IN THE HELMET?:
Psi Chief Ecks and Psi Judge Holme assist with the missing persons case.
Judges Green and Jones assist in the arrest of the Loonies at Moonray Tower.
Logan is a Desk Judge at the Grand Hall.
IT’S CULTURAL, INNIT?:
The Loonies are a nice dig at the cultish dickbags of the Unification Church of Sun Myung Moon; AKA “Moonies”.
ANY LAW LORE?:
Psi Div are located on the second floor of the Grand Hall of Justice.
WHAT THE DROKK?:
If Mega City One projects on the moon, won’t other cities see these projections too? What if they have projectors of their own?
WHAT’S THE ART LIKE?:
Smith is getting into his stride here with the standouts being the signposting panels as the worried parents are searching for their kid.
HOW MANY LINKS?:
I liked this for the nice satire on cultish behaviour (all too big a problem even now since I was approached by a Scientologist only days ago) and the action flows really well. The ISIS like recruitment mentality and the sombre ending for the parents nets this five links.
