Jokers, japers and pranksters are assholes. Comedians are all fine (except of course Michael McIntyre) but those who engage in the sort of humour that relies on fooling you, making you shit yourself or filming your embarrassment for their own ends are the Nickelback of all joviality. There is a special place in hell for those fuckers and Orlok is more than happy to send them there. Another man who hates prankwankers is this guy…
DATELINE:
March/April 2105 (Prog 308).
WHO’S RESPONSIBLE?:
John Wagner and Alan Grant stretch the definition of credulity while Chuck Squirrel gives good chin.
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT (IN ONE SENTENCE)?:
A practical joker takes on the Judges.
WHO’S THAT IN THE HELMET?:
Chief Judge Hilda McGruder blows up the Grand Hall.
ANY LAW LORE?:
The new Grand Hall is opened on 1st April 2105.
Section House North is a thing.
CANON FODDER?:
McGruder has red pads and gloves- is she secretly a Sov?
Presumably Smiley is in the walls and isn’t killed on either occasion.
WHAT THE DROKK?:
So, the Grand Hall was completely empty when it was opened? That is ridiculous as there would be support staff in there at the very least. And nobody is injured when a gigantic building drops? It’s enough to make Mr Ross reach for the Kool Aid.
How does the Prankster get access to the building to plant the explosives the first time? What is this, the Alex Jones Conspiracy Hour?
The Grand Hall is rebuilt at the end of the Apocalypse War (some 10 months ago) and is only just completed, so how is it possible to build this new version in less than a month?
How does the Prankster get the correct frequency to send Dredd a fake message?
The Prankster uses a fake chin to impersonate Dredd, but he speaks to other Judges, so does he have the same voice and air of authority too?
WHAT’S THE ART LIKE?:
It honestly appears to be a little rough in places.
HOW MANY LINKS?:
Two. Dredd’s trap seemed feasible enough but the story itself is silly. The “let the building stand forever” line preceding the explosion was funny, though.
