We’ve gotten to the stage in the reviews where Orlok is now mentioning the name of the world’s shittiest world leader in order to trigger people into commenting. It’s almost like he has the Devil guiding his hand. Which would be somewhat ironic as, being atheist, Orlok believes in neither neither Heaven nor Hell. He does believe in the power of Carlos though.
DATELINE:
August 2105 (1984 Dredd Annual).
WHO’S RESPONSIBLE?:
John Wagner goes deep into comedy and Chuck Squirrel does a mean Satan.
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT (IN ONE SENTENCE)?:
The Devil tempts Dredd.
ANY LAW LORE?:
The worst perps are kept in Iso Block 666.
DAMAGE REPORT?:
Dredd gets a few cuts and bruises, but I’m more concerned that he presumably has to shit out a key at some point.
CANON FODDER?:
I’m not sure why the worst perps in the city would be allowed to socialise with one another considering they should be confined to Iso Cubes.
Knee and elbow pads are again the wrong colour.
WHAT THE DROKK?:
Iso block 666 is shaped like a huge phallus, complete with a purple tip.
WHAT’S THE ART LIKE?:
With a circle panel to keep Whittle happy, this as some great colours on show and Carlos’s devil is quite impressive.
HOW MANY LINKS?:
Played strictly for laughs and to verse, this is a light bit of fluff with Dredd literally beating the devil by the end of this and locking him up. Four links for a fun story with good art.
