ZARJAZ #30 is out there and what a haul of goodies it holds inside it’s A5 wraparound cover, by new droid on the block, Dan Cornwell.
What is Zarjaz I hear you say. Well you drokkers, it’s one of two awesome 2000 AD based fanzines, the other being Dogbreath (for those who don’t know, that one’s about Strontium Dogs). These are both excellent reads and Dave Evans & Richmond Clements do sterling work getting the creative teams together for these issues.
One lovely bit of work by the pair is their ability to get actual 2000 AD droids to do the covers, which always brightens the issue up, when on display. They sell these at a few conventions, it’s been stocked by a few comic shops and the ever faithful, you can buy it online.
This issue of Zarjaz is a Dreddworld special, as all the stories relate to the world of Dredd, obvious really!
Inside there are 7 stories, 4 Judge Dredd, 1 Devlin Waugh, 1 Tales of Mega-City One and the opener Judge Pigg!
The stories vary in art styles but each tale works well with who the editors have teamed up. Some particular enjoyable images are applied by Mick Cassidy, Dan Goodfellow and Edward Whatley. This is not to say the others are any less, it’s personal preference.
Now we could waffle on about the stories but here’s an even better idea, follow the link and then buy a copy for yourself and say where you heard about it!
