It’s been an odd day for Orlok. He read this story, penned his notes, mowed the lawn, had the mower breakdown, came back into the house to find the aforementioned notes missing due to an asshole kitten, re-read the story, fixed the mower and then completely forgot what the story was about. He’s now sitting there covered in so much grease it looks like he murdered Herbie and STILL has to read the story again…
DATELINE:
November 2101 (Prog 139).
WHO’S RESPONSIBLE?:
John Wagner does a Doomwatch and John Cooper doesn’t get the memo.
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT (IN ONE SENTENCE)?:
A bacteria begins to destroy plasteen within the city.
WHO’S THAT IN THE HELMET?:
Chief Judge Jurgen Griffin (supposedly).
ANY LAW LORE?:
The Lawmaster bike radio is constructed from plasteen. Cheap bastards.
Apparently lawyers are still a thing in the Big Meg.
IT’S CULTURAL, INNIT?:
This has a very similar plot to The Plastic Eaters from the cracking series Doomwatch.
WHAT THE DROKK?:
KK Danvers has a plasteen heart and is in isolation. How does the plasteen eating bacteria manage to penetrate his flesh and bones to get to his artificial heart?
The Chief Judge is shown but is quite clearly not Griffin, unless he just puts the eyepatch on for effect. Or it was made of plasteen.
WHAT’S THE ART LIKE?:
Not sold on this at all.
HOW MANY LINKS?:
There’s a slight but nonsensical twist but the art and the poor execution makes this a two links story.
